Angie Collins, a PCI Certified Parent CoachⓇ, is the founder and owner of Empowered Parents Empowering Daughters, LLC. Angie has been on a quest for over two decades to share concepts in child development with community members closest to children who can have the most positive impact on their growth.
After teaching elementary school for several years, she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa, developing educational workshops for dozens of preschool teachers. Following this experience, she continued in her commitment to children by pursuing an M.A. in Education and Child Development at Tufts University, where she completed her Master’s project on “Parental Involvement in Children’s Education in African American and Latin American Families”. As a multiracial woman from Cleveland, Ohio, this was both an academic project and a personal endeavor to further her understanding of a community and its needs.
Once certified as a Parent Coach, as a mother of three girls herself, Angie decided it was important for her to reach parents wishing to raise strong daughters despite being faced with daily challenges. As an American who moves to a new country every few years because of her husband’s work with US Embassies worldwide, she is not short on her own experience with challenges. In addition, after having lived in Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Botswana, the US, and El Salvador, as you can imagine, her family has had many opportunities for great conversations about the power of women and the challenges that girls face around the world.
Drawing upon her education and life experiences, Angie helps parents improve their relationship with their daughters through communication and create true connections. Through her coaching, parents learn to face challenges as they arise with true confidence. She focuses on empowering parents so that they can, in turn, empower their daughters.
